Rachel started her journey as a Pilates Instructor in 2015 with the late Master Teacher Alvin Giam who started the first Pilates studio in Singapore. What got her started was the desire to learn the Pilates techniques thoroughly to benefit her body in the most efficient way. She was diagnosed with a nerve impingement which the spine surgeon had suggested operative corrections. But Rachel decided that she would exhaust all methods first before considering surgery.

True enough, a consistent effort to correct her posture and maintaining an active lifestyle with Pilates as the core, she has gained better control in the pain management. That was particularly liberating as she was able to be more effective in her regional role with the heavy travels and intense deadlines on content development.

Moving along, Rachel continued her instructor training in Pilates on the Reformer machine, followed by the Cadillac and the Chair. It is her passion to help people around her to understand how mindful movement of the body could help in pain management.

Rachel is a certified classical Matwork and STOTT Reformer Pilates Instructor.
